Skincare to delight your senses

Whilst creating Anara Skincare, we always wanted to create more than just products, we wanted to create a luxurious sensory experience. We wanted to create a skincare range that is a delight to the senses, from the smell, texture and skin feel of the products to the aesthetics of the packaging. 
Of course, all of these aspects are subjective and different people like different things, so we set out on a journey to try and make products that were enjoyed by as many people as possible, speaking to a diverse cross section of people with different skin types, different life-style choices, and across different genders and life stages. 
Each product that you now see in our shop went though so many iterations over our four year journey. We changed textures, scents and colours of the formulations until we reached versions that we believe truly do delight your senses. We also explored endless packaging options, colours and designs. Each step in the process was a slow and considered decision, because there were so many elements that we didn't want to compromise on.
How do our senses affect the choice of products we choose:

The power of scent

Not only can a familiar scent bring back memories but it can also send signals to the brain that affect our emotions and heighten our sense of pleasure or instil a feeling of calm and relaxation. 

We never use any artificial fragrances in our products so our scent journey involved finding gentle essential oils that help with the well-ageing process and also have the most beautiful and calming fragrance notes.

Three of our chosen essential oils are:

Mandarin Orange oil has a refreshing sweet citrus aroma has been found to reduce nervous tension and anxiety, while creating a sense of harmony and balance.

Rose Otto Flower oil has a sweet, floral fragrance and is distilled from Turkish Damask roses. It has a soothing and sensual aroma that is known to calm body and mind.

Frankincense oil has a sweet, woody aroma which enhances the mood by reducing feelings of stress and anxiety while improving concentration and memory.

The healing touch

The skin is a highly sensitive organ made up of different types of sensory nerve endings. Therefore the texture of a product can evoke very powerful feelings and often the things we feel with our hands and on our skin can remind us of things we feel in our heart.

Anara products are designed to be comforting to the touch, to absorb quickly into your skin leaving it feeling loved and nourished. 

As part of our formulation journey, not only were the texture of each product carefully chosen to be a sensory experience for your skin but they have been designed to be layered with one another for a comforting, hydrating routine. They have also been created to act as the perfectly protective base for SPF and make up. 

Pleasing to the eyes

Colours can have a very powerful impact on your mood and emotions had therefore the colours chosen for our product formulations and packaging were very mindfully chosen:

White/clear - symbolising peace, clarity, purity and innocence

Yellow - a bright, warm and cheerful colour, invoking the feeling of a sunny day 

For our packaging, the neutrality and balance of the colour grey alongside the soft, healing, and peaceful vibes given by the colour pink are brought together to form a unique mauve, known to represent decadence, youth, and purity.

At Anara Skincare the importance given to the eyes doesn’t just stop at the aesthetics. Eyes should be treated with love and respect and therefore each product in our range has been created to be used around your delicate eye area. 

Whilst our products can’t directly affect hearing and taste, we know that you will be delighted then people tell you how happy and healthy your skin looks and we have often been told that our ingredient lists remind them of a delicious fruit salad!
